How to Use Habit Tracker

  1. Step 1: Add your habits
Start with 2–3 habits maximum. More than 5 is overwhelming and dramatically reduces completion rates. Enter a clear, specific habit name: 'Walk 15 minutes' is better than 'Exercise'.
  2. Step 2: Define each habit clearly
A good habit has a clear completion criteria: 'Read 10 pages', 'Do 20 push-ups', 'Meditate for 5 minutes'. Vague habits like 'Be healthier' cannot be ticked off and tracked.
  3. Step 3: Check in daily
At the end of each day (or during the day as you complete habits), tap the checkbox for each completed habit. Consistency of the check-in itself is more important than perfect completion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is my habit data stored?

All habit data is stored in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and no account is required. The trade-off is that clearing your browser data or switching browsers will reset your streaks.

How long does it actually take to form a habit?

The popular '21 days' figure is a myth. Research by Phillippa Lally at UCL found that habit formation takes an average of 66 days, ranging from 18 to 254 days depending on the complexity and consistency of the habit.
